Secure Network Packet Transfer System (SNTS)
Secure SNTS Application
Secure Network Packet Transfer System (SNTS) supports concurrent transfer of multiple data types (specifically UDP, TCP, and files) through a single installed pair of Owl's one-way data transfer hardware. While previous Owl products achieved maximum throughput by dedicating hardware and throughput-optimized software for each datatype, SNTS achieves maximum flexibility of use through integration of previously separate software products. SNTS provides seamless TCP and UDP socket-based network connectivity with Owl's Common Criteria EAL certified one-way
DualDiode® data transfer hardware, and is the product of choice for customers who handle dissimilar data types concurrently at lower throughput levels. SNTS features include IP routing and IP filtering. SNTS also includes Owl's TCP-based file transfer application, Remote File Transfer Service (
Remote File Transfer Service (RFTS), allowing users to concurrently transfer files, streaming video, SNMP TRAP, and UNIX syslog messages.
How it Works
SNTS comprises a suite of software components that work together while concurrently transferring data over dissimilar protocols:
- TCP component: manages TCP/IP socket communications
- UDP component: manages UDP socket communications
- MUX component: expands IP routing capabilities of UDP component
- RFTS expands file transfer capabilities of TCP component
No information of any kind, including handshake protocols (TCP/IP, SCSI, USB, serial/parallel ports, etc.) travels from the destination computer back to the source computer. This “trust nothing” design ensures that data residing on the isolated LAN is fully protected.
