High Resolution Images

High resolution images are extremely large files, often with attendant metadata. Owl Computing has several methods for transferring this information, depending on the architectural configurations of storage media. The most direct way is use of Owl Directory File Transfer System (DFTS) moving files at and above the Terabyte range in size.

DFTS operates with DualDiode® Technology hardware systems to transfer traffic at up to 2.5Gbps with sustained user content throughput of 270Mbytes per second. Other options include Remote File Transfer Service (RFTS) through TCP channels of the DualDiode. An example of this size is GIS data, and the ability to replicate entire directory structures. For GIS data, where metadata for images are kept in specific directories, this can be very significant.
