10 Gigabit Hardware with Hi-Cap Transport Protocol Added to Solution Suite
 
Ridgefield, Connecticut, March 14, 2011 -- Owl Computing Technologies, Inc., the premier source for secure, reliable, fast, one-way information sharing, has developed an innovative high-capacity transport protocol and hardware design for secure, one-way data transfer. The Owl DualDiode® 10G Communication Card set (operating at 10 Gigabits per second) establishes a new application-enabling platform for Owl cross domain solutions (CDS). Coupled with DualDiode transfer software, Owl 10G delivers a true non-routable protocol break from Internet protocols; the 10G hardware platform also delivers quality-of-service low-level pacing mechanisms to ensure error-free data transport. This enables CDS data confidentiality at capacities to satisfy demands for transfers of terabyte-scale files, whole database replication, and high multiples of high-resolution full motion video, image, and sensor data.

“Today’s enterprise cross domain users recognize that their programs and projects need more capacity now,” stated Dr. Ron Mraz, Owl Computing President & CTO. “These customers see new applications, like many transfer streams of hi-res full motion video as pushing the envelope for greater capacity. Our 10Gig development will meet all these capacity needs. A key element to this design charter has been our creation of a proprietary transport protocol. This innovation crafts a link-layer protocol that supports native unidirectional transfers at 10Gig and beyond. Using this high-efficiency packet format optimizes the new card set design while maintaining essential transfer high reliability. It also allows us to build in generic optics for physical-layer transfer from sending to receiving Owl servers.”

Ron continued: “Our user communities not only need to share information securely. They also require getting it quickly, and especially in the cases for video and integrated sensor displays, in high bandwidth. New computer systems will be needed to handle this volume of traffic. As the new processors come to market, Owl is ready to satisfy these demands on the new platforms.
