Owl Expands Protection of Critical Digital Systems with OPDS-002
 
Ridgefield, Connecticut, July 12, 2011 -- Owl Computing Technologies, Inc., the premier source for simple, reliable, secure one-way information sharing, announces the general availability of the Owl OPDS-002 File Security Engine to its electronic perimeter defense product suite. OPDS-002 enables the secure transfer of file information from administrative or engineering networks into the segregated process control space, or from process control sensors and data collectors out to analysis and business spaces. The continued integrity and reliability of process control is maintained.

Owl OPDS-002 imposes a non-routable protocol break between sending and receiving sites, as required by government regulation for the protection of critical digital assets. File transfer traffic is scanned and filtered by a security engine isolated from outside IP networks by two individual instances of Owl’s DualDiode® one-way transfer hardware. The two Owl data diode instances connect to external sending & receiving networks via USB point-to-point protocol and connectors. Security processor and upstream & downstream one-way transfers are housed a single 1.75” high, 19” wide rackmountable appliance.
