Ridgefield, Connecticut, July 12, 2011 -- Owl Computing Technologies, Inc., the premier source for simple, reliable, secure one-way information sharing, announces the general availability of Owl VirtualScreen View Service (OV²S) for the Industrial Control market. OV²S collects real-time screen images from monitoring computer platforms within segregated networks. OV²S delivers this information across Owl perimeter defense systems to client platform screens outside the electronic perimeter. OV²S offers Owl “smart screen technology” -- the OV²S server application in the segregated process control space sends screen data as it changes, with full periodic screen updates. Client applications in Level 2 networks and beyond can connect and disconnect at any time without rebooting their systems. In addition, clients can connect to multiple servers for simultaneous display of multiple screens.
“With growing cybersecurity concerns and the requirement for regulatory compliance, process control operators must isolate their networks from possible attack and compromise. VirtualScreen View allows them to see isolated operations screens in real time on monitors outside the electronic perimeter,” related Dr. Ron Mraz, Owl President and CTO. “This feature gives engineering staff the same screens they could view before process control isolation.”
Dr. Mraz continued: “VirtualScreen View extends an important benefit to process control equipment vendors, as well. Subject matter experts (SMEs) can now analyze process control activities without having to be at the workstation within the electronic perimeter. Real-time one-way transfer and replication of monitoring platform screens, even to vendor sites, gives the contractor the views he needs to fulfill SLAs.”
Owl has successfully marketed the data confidentiality element of electronic IT perimeter defense, and its DualDiode® Technology controlled interfaces, from the firm’s founding in 1998. Owl IT perimeter defense products, incorporating content management and ease-of-use with DualDiode expertise, enables Owl to offer the most comprehensive application suite of non-routable data transfer for the industrial control market.
