Ridgefield, Connecticut, February 10, 2012 – Owl Computing Technologies, Inc. the premier source for securing networks from cyber threats, announces
the addition of the Owl Enterprise Cross Domain Solution (ECDS) – File Transfer (ECDS-FT01 v1.2.5) to the Unified Cross Domain Management Office Baseline Inventory, as of
December 16, 2011. The UCDMO Baseline is a validated products list of cross domain technologies and solutions that are available to agencies in the US Department of Defense
and the Intelligence Community. In order for a technology solution to be added to the UCDMO Baseline, a government sponsor must submit certain information and test evidence
to the UCDMO for review.
The validated Owl ECDS, operating in a constrained Linux environment, supports low-to-higher security transfer of files which have been vetted by data filters integrated in
the ECDS prior to hardware-enforced transfer. ECDS operates at a transfer speed of 2.5 Gigabits per second. ECDS-FT01 joins OCDS-FT01 (formerly Owl 4.0) on the Baseline –
other Owl solutions are currently under UCDMO review for inclusion on the list.
"We at Owl Computing are pleased that this ECDS instance is on the UCDMO's baseline for CDS reuse." stated Dr. Ronald Mraz, Owl Computing President and CTO. "Our CDS products
are modular in design, so managers of new programs requiring a Cross Domain Solution can employ a baseline-validated system -- the new CDS base will significantly shorten the
time to site testing and deployment. UCDMO acceptance points the way toward a cross domain solution that delivers service to many potential users who do not have the budget,
time or resources to support development, accreditation and test of a single-program system."
The functionality of a CDS is grouped into three broad categories: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of the system. Owl Computing has successfully marketed
the Confidentiality element with its DualDiode® Technology from the firm’s founding in 1998. Owl CDS products also incorporate content management, role based access control,
hardened operating systems, enterprise server platforms, and redundancy as elements of Integrity and Availability.
Owl secure one-way transfer solutions range from data center high-capacity systems, to right-sized tactical & mobile form factors, to miniaturized cross domain guards
for the downrange warfighter.
