Owl Computing Technologies® Inc. Announces
Dramatic Growth of its Cybersecurity Business
in the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Market

Ridgefield, Connecticut, June 2, 2010 -- Owl Computing Technologies®, Inc., the market leader in cross-domain solutions providing secure, reliable and robust one way information sharing for all data types, announced today that -- in response to increased client emphasis on cybersecurity, and the need to protect critical cyber assets -- it is expanding its business in the energy and utility segments based on further development of the technology it has exclusively licensed from Sandia Corporation under U.S. Patent No. 5,703,562.

The Sandia patent, issued in 1997, reflects the pioneering work of Curt Nilsen, relating to methods and systems for transferring data through a unidirectional link which does not allow data transmission in a reverse direction. Mr. Nilsen has applied the concept of unidirectional transfer to remote monitoring implementations, such as nuclear material monitoring systems, using a one way link to transfer sensor data from a source computer to a target computer. Building upon Nilsen’s work, Owl Computing has developed its own portfolio of advanced applications in the field of SCADA/sensor data sharing for the energy and utilities industry. Owl applications interface with selected SCADA/sensor devices or intermediate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to collect the desired sensor data and transfer it in near real time using Owl proprietary one-way DualDiode® technology.

Dr. Ron Mraz, President and Chief Technical Officer of Owl Computing, said: “In the almost two decades since he began his work, Curt Nilsen’s efforts have laid the foundation for one way data transmission; Owl has been licensed under his patent for more than eight years. We believe that deriving new products from the Nilsen work enables Owl to stake out a leading position in the field of SCADA applications for the utility and other sensor monitoring fields.”
