Ridgefield, Connecticut, August 1, 2011 – Owl Computing Technologies, Inc., the premier source for secure, reliable, fast one-way information sharing, announces the Owl 4.0SFF Cross Domain Solution (CDS) at the Unified Cross Domain Management Office (UCDMO) Conference, being held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Chicago, Illinois, August 1-4. As a single integrated device, Owl 4.0SFF is the latest addition of the Owl Computing suite of enterprise CDS platforms. The UCDMO mission is provide centralized coordination and oversight of all cross domain initiatives acrossthe U.S. Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Its Cross Domain Inventory represents solutions approved for project and program re-use.
Owl currently has its v4.0 entry on UCDMO Baseline List of Validated Solutions for low-to-high security one-way file transfer. Owl 4.0SFF comprises the same core elements and functionalities as the
Baseline entry in a single 1.75” high, 19” wide rackmountable chassis.
“Our small form factor version of the Owl 4.0 CDS is a direct response to customers who need the assured confidentiality and content management capabilities of 4.0 in a smaller integrated package,” stated Dr. Ron Mraz, Owl Computing President & CTO. “Our experience in producing compact transfer solutions for other markets, and advances in processor and storage designs, enable Owl to deliver such a product to our military and agency clients.” Ron continued: ”As a modular extension for re-use of the Owl 4.0 Baseline system, Owl 4.0SFF can also provide a shorter path to critical accreditation and deployment.”
Owl 4.0SFF integrates complete Send-only and Receive-only Intel® server engines running the Oracle® Solaris 10 operating system. Servers are connected via custom-designed Owl proprietary DualDiode® Technology at a 155Mbps one-way link speed. Independent solid-state drives support extensive filtering suites. Units may be evaluated now; Owl 4.0SFF will be generally available in Q4 2011.
